How to Commission Me
Commissioning an artist can sometimes be confusing as not all artists use the same methods when working with clients, so I like to break it down as much as possible to be sure we're all on the same page.
-
Take a look below at what I offer and the starting prices for each option. Note that the final price will vary depending on the complexity of your commission and how many characters you want included.
Be sure to read over my Terms of Service.
-
Email me your commission or any questions you may have at SarahPollakart@gmail.com. In order to make the best illustration we both love, I will need all the info you can give me. Here's an easy template you can use:
GENERAL INFO:
Your name:
Your Paypal e-mail:
Type of commission:
How many characters:
Any specific details you want included:
Background Elements:
Document size:
CHARACTER(S) INFO:
Character name:
Character personality/description(s): Please give me everything you have on your character that you want me to have in mind when drawing them.
If you have any visual references (especially for poses, armor, or clothing) you'd like me to incorporate or you think will be helpful, then please include those. If you prefer a specific color pallet or mood, please include that as well.
If you don't know exactly what you want and would prefer me to use my artistic license to make something pretty with your characters, then I can happily do that. I will still need all the same info and references so I know what I'm working with.
-
Once you've emailed me, you can expect my reply within 1-2 business days. I'll reply with answers to your questions and perhaps some questions of my own if I don't feel like I have enough info to give you a quote. Once I have the info I need, I'll provide a price quote.
-
Once you give me the go-ahead after receiving the quote, I'll send you an invoice through Paypal for the full project amount. Payment must be paid in full before I will start the commission and by sending payment, you will be agreeing to my Terms of Service.
-
After payment is received, I'll start the drawing process and will email you a sketch for your approval. You can request changes to the sketch, but once you’ve given it your approval any major changes going forward may require extra fees.
Once the final product is sent, you will have two small revision requests available.
You will receive one digital illustration at 300dpi.
Types of Commissions
My goal with taking your commission request is to make you a piece of art you feel happy looking at every time you see it. That means I’m open to taking lots of different kinds of requests - from original characters to anime/video game/comic book fanart to event posters featuring real people. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions!
Below are a few examples of what I can offer to give an idea of my style and prices.
-
A bust is generally a portrait of one or more characters from about the shoulders up. A similar drawing to this would start at about $80.
-
A half-body pose is one from about the hips up. A similar drawing to this one would start at about $120.
-
A full-body pose is one that shows the full figure. A similar drawing to this one would start around $150.
-
Sometimes you just need a unique poster for your events that all your guests can sign so you can hang it on your wall and stare at it lovingly forever. Happens to the best of us.Something similar to this example would start at about $260.
